Artist Talk: Kana Harada Webcast Begins: 12:23 Asia Society Texas welcomes artist Kana Harada for a virtual discussion of her work presented in Divine Spark: Kana Harada, the exhibition on view through January 9, 2022. Harada has created a visual world of her own, drawing the natural world into museum spaces through intricate sculptures and paintings. Featuring a series of images produced by Harada during the pandemic, the exhibition highlights the artist's work as an expression of hope and light. Please join us for insights into the artist's inspirations, processes, and techniques. Divine Spark: Kana Harada is organized by the Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas, with additional works organized by Asia Society Texas for the Houston presentation. Exhibitions and their related programs at Asia Society Texas are presented by Nancy C. Allen, Chinhui Juhn and Eddie Allen, and Leslie and Brad Bucher. Solo show at The Crow Museum of Asian Art Exhibition open from Sat Jan 30 2021 to Sun Sep 05 2021 This exhibition features Kana's new works created during this time of a global pandemic that embody the artist’s wishes for a peaceful and bright future for all. Harada expresses the light that can be found in the dark, and continues to push sculpture, foam, and acrylic and watercolor painting to new heights in her practice. This exhibition is the second exhibition of the museum’s Texas Asian Women Artists Series. |
